Founded in 2009, our partner school in Hamburg is located inside the stunningly beautiful Esplanade Building, an art-deco commercial building in the heart of the city center. On the 2nd and 3rd floors you’ll find 6 well-lit, spacious and modern classrooms where you can learn and improve your German in style!
Once class is over you can head up to the 200 square meter roof terrace and enjoy fantastic views of the Inner Alster, once of the city’s two famous artificial inner-city lakes, and the Jungfernstieg, home to world famous hotels and department stores. You can, of course, also head out and enjoy exploring the canals and bridges of a city whose aesthetic, livelihood and nature's is all defined by water - to the extent that some would argue it’s Venice that should in fact be referred to as the Hamburg of the South!
In terms of facilities, this school offers a self-study center with books, CDs and over 60 computers, as well as a media and multimedia room. Free WiFi is also included and is available in the school canteen as well.
You don’t know any German at all, but want to start learning?
Special programs for beginners will start on the following dates in 2020: 06.01., 03.02., 02.03., 06.04., 04.05., 02.06., 06.07., 03.08., 07.09., 05.10. and 02.11..
All elementary-advanced level courses have start dates on every Monday throughout the year.
There will be no class held during the public hollidays (a few days every year, please contact us for details)

Host Families
Living with a host family is the best way to immerse yourself in the language as you’ll get to continue learning after class by putting your language skills into real life practice, as you become part of the family!
If you select the shared room option, our partner school will take care to make sure your roommate has different mother tongue to you, encouraging you both to practice German as much as possible.
At this school, it’s worth noting that the host families are not always ‘traditional’ families; there are also single parent families and single elderly people who will welcome you into their home.
Youth Hotel (for participants older than 18)
If you’re looking to live a little bit more independently whilst enjoying the student life, then this is the accommodation option for you! You must be over 18 to choose this accommodation option. You have the option to stay in shared twin rooms or private single rooms.
The faclities in the Youth Hotel include:
Arrival: Sunday before course start | Check-In: 15:00 h
Departure: Saturday after last course day | Check-Out: 10:00 h
Our partner school offers guided tours and walks in Hamburg and the surrounding area. These activities are not included nor compulsory, but some are certainly not to be missed!
The walking tours through the city centre will help you get acquainted with the city’s historical and architectural sights, including tours around the old warehouse district, the Hamburg Dungeon and the harbour.
You’ll also be presented with the chance to venture outside of Hamburg to nearby cities and landmarks such as Bremen, Lübeck and the beaches of the North Sea. In the evenings you’ll also have the chance to go bowling with your new friends, or simply join them in the bar for a beer or two.
All of the excursions provided by the school are very reasonably priced and can be booked at the time. If you would like more information on excursions, social activities and prices, don’t hesitate to contact us directly.
