Learn French in Biarritz in Europe’s surf capital city!
Located on the Bay of Biscay, 25 kilometers away from the Spanish border, Biarritz is famous as a tourist destination, and it's also the place where the first surfboard was seen in Europe, in one of the six fantastic beaches of the agglomeration. But there are also many other things to do in Biarritz, a city rich of culture with several theaters, movie and music festivals, that attracts thousand of visitors every year!
Our partner language school is located 10 minutes walk from the seaside, its building is a typical Basque house with a terrace and a private swimming pool. In the ten classrooms, students from all around the world (around 120 during the Summer, but sometimes only 20 in the Winter) learn French with highly-qualified teachers, in a particularly pleasant atmosphere, with a pedagogical approach that put communication at its core..

Thrill seeker? Surf the world famous waves of Biarritz! Cosmopolitan and lively, Biarritz is the essential destination for surfers and one of the most welcoming cities in France. Ideal for thrill seekers who will discover a city that lives to the rhythm of the Atlantic Ocean.
French + Surf course is open from intermadiate level A2 to advanced levels, B2. The program is available from 31/03 to 24/10/2025.The courses consist of 20 lessons of 45 minutes in a week, in the morning or in the afternoon from Monday to Friday. You benefit from 5 lessons of 1h30 / week during the afternoon - the schedules vary according to the tides.
The students stay with a host family - inhabitants of Biarritz or its surroundings. They live 40 minutes maximum from the school by public transportation, or 20 minutes for a supplement. The families are chosen and monitored by the school's staff: they are friendly and always willing to help the students practice their French and discover the region and its culture. They also assist them with every detail of their everyday life. The families are evaluated by the students and controled yearly by the schools staff.
There is a Wi-Fi connection in every house or apartement. Each week, the students can either use the washing machine themselves or give the laundry to their host for them to wash.
Different kinds of rooms are being offered, students can also choose a family living very close to the school or get a room with a private bathroom. These options will appear on your registration form.
A staff member is solely responsible for making the students feel comfortable in Biarritz and helps them take care of every practical detail during their stay: where to buy a weekly card for the bus, where to have lunch, where to find the post office, the public library or fitness center, …
Please note that the school charges accomodation placement fees.
Arrival at the host family: Sundays from 6pm (if you plan to arrive earlier, please advise the host family) - for any arrival before 2pm, an early check-in fee of 35€ will be added.

Every Monday, the school organizes city tour: students and teachers visit together Biarritz and its main attractions. In the evening, every week, a teacher presents a French movie.
Once week, an activity is offered in the afternoon (rafting, pelote basque, hike along the Via Ferrata…) and one in the evening (theater, concert…)
Other activities are organized in collaboration with local leisure center and offered at a preferential price: surfing, yoga or golf lessons and even thalassotherapy!
During the week-end, students can register to go on an excursion to another near-by city (Bayonne...)
