Berlin

The real city that never sleeps

Learn German in Berlin

With a history dating back to the 13th century, it is perhaps its turbulent and eventful 20th century for which Berlin is most famous; from its role in the Second World War to its subsequent life as a city divided until the falling of the wall in 1989.

Today, Berlin is youthful party city, that was recently named Europe's Startup capital. The cheap rent, acres of space (nearly one third of the city is covered by park or forest) and buzzing cultural life have seen young, budding millennials move-in from across the globe - the metropolitan area is home to over 6 million residents from over 180 countries, pretty astounding when you consider there are only 196 offical nations in the world!

It's not only young hedonists and tech gurus who are shaping Berlin's modern character; it still remains an international city of culture politics, media and science. Despite being a bustling city, that some say truly never sleeps (step aside, New York), Berlin is also known for its laidback lifestyle. Despite its size, the cafes found in the small, hip streets of areas such as Kreuzberg and Prenzlauer Berg are easy to meander around; it might be a massive, multicultural metropolis, but its key areas remain accessible.

In Berlin you'll learn German in a vibrant, cultural hotspot whilst making new friends from across the globe!
